Common links among Autism Spectrum, Tourette Syndrome and Down Syndrome

The chief researcher at ICNR, Dr. Gerald H. Smith, has uncovered what appears to be a common denominator in three neurodevelopmental entities: Autism Spectrum, Down Syndrome and Tourette Syndrome. Although neurodevelopmental maladies encompasses ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), fetal alcohol spectrum, traumatic brain injury, motor disorders, genetic disorders (fragile-X syndrome) and communication, speech and language disorders, Dr. Smith's clinical experience has only focused on Autism, Down's and Tourettes.

The general consensus among scientists regarding the etiology of these disorders is that genetic and environmental factors play a role in the cause but most agree that the actual cause(s) are unknown. Based on the Environmental Working Group’s research, Dr. Smith believes that the etiology of these medical disorders have their root in genetic alterations directly caused by the developing fetus being exposed to approximately 300 environmental chemicals during the nine months of pregnancy. Additional key initiating factors involve the vaccine preservative, Thimerosal (ethyl mercury), which is a known neurotoxin and childhood vaccines with their abundance of potentially toxic adjuvants like formaldehyde, fetal tissue, aluminum, squalene, antigens emulsified in mineral oil (example: inactivated and dried mycobacteria [usually M. Tuberculosis]), polysorbate 80 and many more. The primary function of these adjuvants is to act as immunopotentiators or boosters, however, they also function to break the body’s tolerance, that is they disable the immune system to the degree that it loses its ability to distinguish what is “self” from what is foreign. It is strongly recommended that expecting parents and parents of young children research the vaccine issue before making an informed consent. The clinical dots connecting Autism Spectrum, Down Syndrome and Tourette Syndrome involve three factors: cranial distortions, Thimerosal and tetanus vaccine. Doctor Smith’s 42 plus years of extensive multidisciplinary training has enabled him to evaluate patients on the basis of osteopathic, chiropractic, nutritional and dental parameters. In all three groups specific cranial bone distortions were present. This form of structural distortion adversely influences the central and autonomic nervous systems plus prevents the structural system (spine and pelvis) from achieving a state of balance. Second, all three maladies exhibited the presence of Thimerosal (ethyl mercury) in the left side of the brain in the vicinity of the Broca speech center. Third, all three groups had tetanus vaccine trapped in the left lobe of the thyroid gland. The thyroid governs metabolism of the entire body plus strongly influences function of the brain, heart, digestion, muscles and ligaments, mental clarity, energy and sense of well being. When cranial correction was made to all three groups, plus chelation or removal of Thimerosal from the left side of the brain and neutralization of the tetanus vaccine by means of homeopathic nosodes all three groups of patients responded exceptionally well. Common feedback involved better sleep, more relaxed and sense of well feeling, improved language articulation, better social skills.

Conclusion: Doctor Smith believes that his findings help uncover three major factors that work to derail the function of the human body. Although not the underlying causes for the medical conditions, cranial distortions, Thimerosal and tetanus vaccine appear to represent three major factors which hamper the body from reaching its maximum potential. Doctor Smith believes that further research is needed to investigate the direct effect of environmental chemicals on genetic mutations.
