Potential Dangers of Hearing Aids

As we age, a major issue facing all of us is hearing loss. Unfortunately, little is being done to prevent the problem, and its resolution primarily focuses on treating the symptoms with hearing aids. One aspect of hearing aids that has eluded the attention of most health care professionals is the fact that hearing aids give off electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs), which potentially can cause damage to the body.

Electromagnetic (EM) fields are energy fields that are associated with any electrical device: baby monitors, cell phone radiation, cell phone towers, cordless phones, electrical pollution, television, wi-fi routers, and even hearing aids. Wireless devices emit radio frequency radiation or microwave radiation at the rate of billions of cycles per second. Thousands of peer-reviewed studies point to the link between these exposures and a long list of adverse biological health effects and very serious diseases, including, brain tumors, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. Many people now have wireless connectivity with not only with their phones but also with their laptops, Fitbit type watches and tablets, to name a few. In addition, many people live in proximity to a very large number of actively transmitting wi-fi routers, smart meters, and other wireless devices. Overlaid with this blanket of EMF radiation, people wearing hearing aids now have a more concentrated exposure to the brain.

Most digital wireless hearing aids use a short-range transmission (3 to 11 Megahertz) and a long-range transmission (2.4 Gigahertz- Bluetooth). The real problem develops from the fact that water or fluids like blood, lymph, intracellular fluids, or cerebrospinal fluid act as crystals. Crystals can be imprinted with harmful frequencies that can disrupt the normal functioning of cells, tissues, and organs. As an example, I recently had a patient who gave a medical history of having headaches for ten years, with worsening during the past three years. Of interest was the fact that three years ago the worsening of his headaches coincided with wearing bilateral hearing aids for the first time. When the patient was energetically muscle tested without his hearing aids in his ears, he muscle tested strongly. When the hearing aids were placed next to his brain, he could not hold up his arm up when pressure was applied. In addition, when he was given a special diode to counteract the radiation being given off from his hearing aids, he was able to maintain muscle strength when retested. Also his headaches diminished within 24 hours of wearing the diode when he had his hearing aids in place. My patient was an engineer and was very skeptical at first. But with the muscle testing procedure and the fact that his headaches decreased within 24 hours made a believer out of him.

Patient Test without Diode

Patient was first tested without his hearing aids. Muscle test was strong; patient was then tested with his hearing aids held by his skull in various locations. Patient tested weak.

Patient Tested With Diode

The patient was then tested with his hearing aids held next to his skull but with the special diode held next to his chest. The patient tested strong because the diode emits random waves which disrupt the toxic electromagnetic frequencies being given off by the hearing aid batteries. Every patient who has hearing aids needs this special diode to protect their brain from the EMF radiation.

The Medical Link Between EMF Pollution and Chronic Health Problems

Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, M.D., Ph.D., founder of Klinghardt Academy, links the ever‑increasing exposure to electromagnetic radiation (EMR) to the rapid rise in neurological illnesses such as low-level depression, insomnia, chronic fatigue, numbness, tingling, and “unexplainable” muscle aches and pains.

In his book, Dirty Electricity: Electrification and the Diseases of Civilization, Samuel Milham, M.D., M.P.H. warns “that because of the recent proliferation of radio frequency radiation from cell phones and towers [Editor’s note: and hearing aids], terrestrial antennas, wi-fi and wi-max systems, broadband internet over power lines, and personal electronic equipment, we may be facing a looming epidemic of morbidity and mortality.”

Make no mistake about it: We are “electrical beings” and, since WWII, the proliferation of electrical power lines and wireless technology has placed an enormous stress on our biological systems.

A wealth of documentation regarding EMFs appears in a scientific journal, BioInitiative 2012 — a scientific report talking about the risks associated with EMF pollution prepared by 29 authors from ten countries, ten holding medical degrees, 21 Ph.D.s, and three Ms.C.s, M.A.s or M.P.H.s.

In a recent $30 million study undertaken by the U.S. National Toxicology Program (NTP), David McCormick, Ph.D., from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, used an animal model to evaluate the effects of prolonged RF radiation exposure in mammals.

After exposure for nine hours a day for two years (approximating the number of hours Americans are using their phones), the researchers found a statistically significant increase in the number of health problems and brain tumors in the rats. [Editors note: Daily use of hearing aids would approximate the exposure created by cell phone usage.]

The Debate Over Brain Tumors and Cell Phone Exposure Continues

An Italian court recently weighed in on the debate over cell phone use and the development of brain tumors when they found in favor of a longtime telecommunication employee, Roberto Romeo, who claimed a benign brain tumor resulted in hearing loss in one ear.

In 2012, the Italian Supreme Court upheld a ruling linking an executive’s cell phone use to a tumor on the same side of his head that he had held his cell phone five to six hours a day for over 12 years.

Seven Little-Known Health Risks of Wi-Fi (microwaves) Networks

  1. Wi-fi Shares the Same Frequency as a Microwave Oven

Wi-fi networks are on a 2.4 Gigahertz (Bluetooth) frequency. This frequency is the same as that of a microwave oven, and perhaps of greater concern, it is the optimum frequency for vibrating molecules to boil water. Electromagnetic fields from wi-fi are everywhere and anyone wearing a hearing aid will have additional exposure, which potentially could speed-up the onset for pathology.

2. The Radiation May be More Dangerous to Children

Children’s cells are more sensitive to radiation, and they may be adsorbing more of EMF radiation than adults. There was a recent study that stressed the point that pregnant women should avoid being exposed to microwave radiation, because fetuses are even more at risk. This precaution of EMF exposure has been taken very seriously by the Chinese government, which mandates that all pregnant women wear a special shield over their abdomens to protect the developing fetus from EMF exposure.

3. Wi-Fi Can Cause Dehydration

One of the side effects of EMFs is that it can cause mucus membranes to dry up. If you experience swelling of mucous membranes or chronic dryness in your sinuses, nose, throat, or even your eyes without any obvious trigger, you may be electromagnetic sensitive to a variety of radiation sources.

4. It Can Disturb Your Normal Bacteria in Your Gut

Research has actually found that exposure to radio frequency, and electromagnetic radiation causes Escherichia coli bacteria to grow a lot faster than normal. Research also showed that within a 6-hour window of exposure, the E.coli exposed to radiation became more resistant to antibiotics. The researchers believe that wi-fi and mobile exposure can serve as physical methods to alter the antibacterial susceptibility of microorganisms.

5. It Can Complicate Heart Problems

Wi-fi signals could be especially problematic if you have heart trouble. If you experience being anxious or have a racing heart around wireless networks, you may not be just imagining it. A study that involved 69 subjects showed there was an increase in heart rate similar to the rate that would occur under distress when subjects were exposed to electromagnetic fields. In addition, wi-fi exposure has been shown to cause heart conditions, including angina, arrhythmia, hypertension, and tachycardia.

6. Wi-fi Can Be The Source of Insomnia

Studies show that exposures to EMFs can impede the production of melatonin and affect the body‟s circadian rhythm. EMF exposures in the bedroom can undermine sleep cycles and cause many ailments and symptoms, such as:

  • Irritation of allergies
  • Tiredness upon awakening
  • Heart palpitations
  • Muscle pain and weakness
  • Weakening of your immune system

7. EMFs Effects on The Nervous System

The effects of radiation on nervous tissues have been a subject of active investigation since changes in animal behavior and since nerve electrical properties were first reported in the Soviet Union during the 1950s and 1960s. RF radiation is reported to affect isolated nerve preparations in the laboratory, the central nervous system, brain chemistry and histology, and the blood-brain barrier.

The proliferation of EMFs caused by increased use of cell phones, cell phone towers, laptops, wi-fi, and other electronic devices has been documented to impact on the health of humanity. In 2017, according to the European Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association, global unit sales of hearing aids were reported at 15.05 million. In 2018, the projected number of people with disabling hearing loss worldwide is estimated to be at 466 million. The potential number of people who will be wearing hearing aids can reach incredibly high numbers. These staggering statistics should be a wake up call to researchers to investigate the potential health hazards of EMF-emitting hearing aids and how to rectify the impact they can have on the quality of life of millions of people worldwide.
