Lower back and right thigh pain resolved

Nate Ostrofsky who is 87 years young presented with a history of 20 years of lower back pain and 10 years of right thigh pain. The patient has a medical history of a left hip replacement and proposed surgical replacement of his right knee. The patient was referred to our office for evaluation and treatment.

A comprehensive examination revealed cranial bone distortions overlaid by a 15 year old ill-fitting full upper and lower dentures. Initial treatment involved adjusting the cranium to re-establish structural balance with an immediate soft reline of the upper denture to hold the corrected skull alignment. The lower full denture was also relined with a soft material to improve the fit, retention and increase the vertical height of the dentures. Immediately following the relines, the patient stated that his 10 years of right thigh pain totally disappeared. The patient returned two days later to reline the lower denture to further increase the vertical height. Immediately following this procedure, the patient stated that his 20 years of lower back pain improved by 90 percent. Before and after infrared thermal images were taken to objectively document any changes. The post treatment image exhibited a smaller area of pain and a temperature drop of 3.31 F. The temperature drop reflects a vasomotor response of the nervous system. Any temperature reduction greater than 3 degrees is indicative of a reduced inflammation.

Loss of vertical height from a worn denture directly causes compression of the spine. Since the temporal bones and the pelvic bones work in unison, a distortion of either of the right or left temporal bone will directly affect the SI or sacroiliac joint. The patient was also seriously contemplating having his right knee surgically replaced. My clinical experience has shown that once the SI joint is reset to “factory default” the knee issues resolve.

Because of a lack of knowledge and an uniformed medical community patients undergo surgical procedures, which in a high percentage of cases could be resolved non-invasively.

Pre-Treatment Infrared image: The red area depicts the region (sacroiliac) of pain the patient had experienced for the past 20 years.

Post-Treatment Infrared image: the red region, which depicts the area of pain, decreased in size. Also the temperature dropped from 70F to 66.69F. The 6.31 F drop in temperature occurred immediately following the increase in the vertical height of the lower denture. Changing structural alignment of the cranium and denture directly causes a vasomotor response, that is, the blood vessels relax allowing the stagnated toxins and waste products to get flushed away. With time the patient’s symptoms will reduce further.
