Module Introduction
"Many of us spend our lifetimes chasing mental images rather than observe the realities of life." Unfortunately organizations or industries that have vested interests have imbedded many of the mental images that we carry through out life. Examples in our lifetime include the repeated assurances that DDT was safe, tobacco did not cause cancer, and asbestos was not harmful and the one bullet theory reported in the Warren Commission.
Since dentists who were expelled for using the poisonous mercury fillings formed the American Dental Association, they had no other choice but to champion their cause by repeated assurances of mercury¹s safety. This dental trade union continues to cling onto this mental image of safety even in the face of documented scientific research that has disproved their claims.
This section was designed to provide you with important information so that you can determine for yourself what the realities of life really are. One would think that a professional organization would want to defend their diehard position by supporting good scientific research to disprove their opposition. To date no such scientific research has been funded by the ADA to determine if mercury is safe or not. How many more years will it take until mercury fillings join the ranks of DDT, tobacco and asbestos?
Eleven American Dental Association Claims Scientifically Refuted!
This response was prepared by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, a Canadian non-profit charitable organization dedicated to research and education.
