Since dentists who were expelled for using the poisonous mercury fillings formed the American Dental Association, they had no other choice but to champion their cause by repeated assurances of mercury¹s safety. This dental trade union continues to cling onto this mental image of safety even in the face of documented scientific research that has disproved their claims.

One would think that a professional organization would want to defend their diehard position by supporting good scientific research to disprove their opposition. To date no such scientific research has been funded by the ADA to determine if mercury is safe or not.
